The Nantes nursing home, which houses 91 elderly people, introduced aromatherapy in 2013. Catherine has gradually diffused essential oils throughout the establishment and uses it for individual cases.
Essential oils are diffused as mist to purify the air, deodorise, and to help calm and stimulate the residents’ cogitative faculties.
6 protocols have been used for individual care: as end-of-life support, to improve sleep, reduce nausea, deodorise wounds, relieve muscle pain and for oral hygiene.
She received the Foundation’s recognition award in 2019 for her actions.
