In 2016, Raoul, a graduate in clinical aromatherapy, set up an essential oil olfaction protocol in the surgery division of the anaesthesia department for the management of pre-operative anxiety in outpatient surgery.
The Foundation grant is funding a prospective and observational study on 300 patients to assess the effects of “aromatic premedication” on the management of preoperative anxiety. The results will be published in 2022.
