On October 22, 2021, the Aromatherapy team at the Croix-Rousse Hospital received a 2021 grant from Sophie Gattefossé Moyrand.
Dominique Soupart, Director of the Northern Hospital Group of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, gave ‘carte blanche’ to the team during the COVID period to develop an approach that complements drug treatments to improve patients’ well-being.
Three aromatic protocols have been set up for patients hospitalized in the hepato-gastrology, ENT and chemotherapy departments. The medical and paramedical teams offer aromasticks in order to improve comfort and limit the undesirable effects of certain drug treatments.
This project also aims to improve the quality of life at work of the care teams with diffusers in the care rooms.
This project is managed by a multidisciplinary team (see photo): Marine Aussedat and Julianne Oddonne, pharmacists, Aurore Robert-Verd, pharmacy assistant,
Virginie Dumont, Georges Halvadjian, Elodie Liandrat and Valérie Rondot, nurse officers.
The Gattefossé Foundation is very pleased to support the Croix-Rousse Hospital – first grant in Lyon city where René-Maurice Gattefossé initiated aromatherapy in the 1920’s.
